Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Program
This program provides advocacy, counselling, referral and support services to Aboriginal people during their stay in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Phone 250-755-7691 Local 52095 or 250-741-4234 (cell).
Community Health Nursing
Community Health Nurses are available daily for drop-in clients at our health centre. Nurses provide support, education and referrals. No appointments are necessary. For information contact 250-753-6578.
Creating Healthy Families Program
Creating Healthy Families is a drop-in parenting program for parents with children aged 0-6 years. The goal of this program is to support families in nurturing the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health of their children. Families are encouraged to participate in group activities and weekly topics vary. Call 250-753-6578 for further information.
Men's Wellness Program
This program is for adult male survivors of sexual abuse, historical trauma, and the impacts of Residential School. We offer a closed support group and individual counselling. Cultural healing traditions are often incorporated. Pre-registration for the group is required. Please contact 250-753-6578 for more information.
Into the Circle - HIV/AIDS & STD Support Program
The Into the Circle program at Tillicum provides holistic counselling, prevention information, education, treatment, and support services to both individuals living with HIV/AIDS and the community at large. We also provide:
- HIV and HEP C testing, counselling and follow-up
- Sexually Transmitted Disease (STI) Screening/Treatment/Follow-up/Referral
- Pap Smears
- Pregnancy Testing and Counselling
- Emergency Contraception (Plan B)
- Vaccinations for Hepatitis A and B, Influenza (Flu), Pneumovax (Pneumonia), HIB and Tetanus
- Needle Exchange
